I continued on my vibe coding experience today. I worked all day on an application improvement for the duplication app. I called it DuplicateKiller. I know. The app's name is a bit overboard, but I was feeling the name matched my enthusiasm for the app.
I added several features to the app. I worked with Ai revising code. It became a cheesy partnership. Ai still has no soul. It is very much a sub personality it displays. It lacks no wit. But in continuing to guide and incorporate my ideas it is wonderful. The small apps code by myself would have taken months for me to complete. I'm not taking into account my burnout after hours of trying to write, learn, hunt imports, revisions and on and on and on.
I found online coding classes great, but ultimately unfulfilling. Using Ai is like being in a class and getting to the good stuff without years of learning. I want to code more. I want to learn more about coding. Ai is letting me be me without the unnecessary gruel. Coding is far from my natural, instinctual ability.
I do not like data centers causing many social problems, environmental problems and more. However, the idea that this tsunami can be controlled is crazy. Tamed. Yes. Scaled back, good luck.
Like many topics these day, people are taking one side over the other. Many hate Ai with a passion. Many enjoy Ai. Taken a hard line either way seems a bit naive. Ai will find it's place eventually. I don't have the answers, but I don't think the black and white sides of the issue have the answers either.
