Vibe Coding

By Gabe , 2 October 2026

Yesterday I finally decided to try vibe coding. There was a request to make an app that will remove duplicate files. I made one, but it was basic. But I tried Lumo and vibe coded. Before I knew it code was getting created that had a gui, buttons, selections, what I could imagine, code came out.

It wasn't all easy, but not the hard either. But many iterations, learning to prompt Ai efficiently. Also, knowing when to tell it to proceed because it could recommend too many improvements. I had to focus. I had to focus the Ai.

I already had a command line script working. It was basic. It would hash files and delete one of the duplicate hashes automatically. But, no one wanted to use it from command line. They wanted a real package with visuals and options. I don't know how to code all the additions. I could with Ai.

Ai speeds up what you want to make. It assisted me to bridge my knowledge gap with recommendations. Like any knowledgeable helper it went into minutia at times. Other times rolling with my requests and understanding after a few iterations of a section that I just needed it to work. And sometimes surprising me with advanced options I hadn't thought to include.
